Rally Sweden 2015: partial success in the World Rally Championship event
C-Rally Academy together with Synthos Cersanit
Rally Team have celebrated in Sweden 200 rally in Michal Solowow's
career. Unfortunately the jubilee was spoiled at the last day of rally when Ford Fiesta WRC got stuck in the snowdrift with the broken driveshaft and the wheel. However, Jaroslaw Koltun and Irek Pleskot (Ford Fiesta R5) showed good performance in their debut in Sweden - they were classified on 7-th position in WRC2.
Afert two days of competition Michal Solowow and Maciek Baran (Ford Fiesta WRC) occupied fantastic 12-th position overall - the best one among all crews from Poland. Unfortunatelly on "Varmullsasen 1" (SS 20) the hit the snowdrift and
broke the driveshaft. So Michal and Maciek had to retire. So far only two Polish drivers have won the 12-th position in Rally
Sweden. It was Tomasz Kuchar in 2002 and Michal Solowow in 2012. This
year Synthos Cersanit Rally Team was very close to set it again. But the
chance was buried in the snowdrift.
- We tried to push hard from the very beginning. Unfortunately on
the fast right bend our car slipped nto the snowdrift. While we were
trying to come back on the track we hit the stone. Fiesta made a turn
and got stuck in the snow. With a help from spectators we were able to
continue driving. However, after 2 kilometers first the driveshaft and
then the wheel broke off. So we had to retire. But it was a fantastic
rally for us. Great competition, very good pace. It has been our best
Rally Sweden and the best performance on the WRC car - Michał Sołowow said.
Ford Fiesta WRC was preperded by the C-Rally Academy. Rally Sweden 2015 has been 200 rallying event for Michal Solowow. He
has entered Rally Sweden 10 times so far. Michal debuted in the
Scandinavian WRC event in 2003 on N-group Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII.
